I'm happy to inform our readers that earlier this week SpicyIP notched up over 100,000 hits since September, 2007. Our subscriber base has also increased to over 850 members. Although its not as significant as Obama winning the U.S. Presidency, I must say that these are heartening numbers especially for a blog dedicated to only Indian IP laws. Given that the popularity of blogs such as SpicyIP is dependant on word-of-mouth reviews, I would like to thank our dedicated readers for spreading the word about SpicyIP. With your continued support I'm sure we'll bring about 'change' in the Indian IP scenario.
I'm also happy to announce that Shamnad has been appointed to the Chair on IPR Laws at the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkotta. The Chair has been setup by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Back when I was a law student, almost all the Chair Professors were atleast fifty and on the verge of balding. It was therefore more than just a pleasant surprise to hear that Shamnad has been appointed to such a position when he's still in his early thirties, with all his hair intact.
congratulations spicyIP!

Congratulations to Mr Shamnad Basheer on his appointment, and wishing him success in all future endeavours. CHEERS!
Wonderful Shamnad and the whole blog team! Keep it up. Heartiest congratulations to Shamnad for his achievements.
