Expanding the SpicyIP Family: Introducing Mihir Naniwadekar

I have great pleasure in inviting Mihir Naniwadekar to join our blog. He is a 4th year B.A.LL.B. student at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He is a seasoned blogger and has been contributing to the Corporate Law Blog, the leading Indian corproate law blog. He is also the founder of the “Law and Legal Developments” blog.

In his first post on SpicyIP, Mihir plans to cover a rather bold report from the "Innovation Partnership", an international IP and innovation expert group led by Professor Richard Gold. The report titled ‘Toward a New Era of Intellectual Property: From Confrontation to Negotiation’ argues that our current IP structures are outdated and that we need to move towards a "New" IP.

In his second post, Mihir plans to critically assess Justice Bhat's judgment in the Scrabulous vs Scrabble matter. Given his writing skills and his insightful comments on the other blogs, we have no doubt that Mihir will prove a wonderful addition to the SpicyIP family.
Please join me in welcoming Mihir.

ps: I know that many of our readers will miss Mrinalni Kochupillai, who set a certain standard with her hard hitting, analytical and extremely well researched posts. Her departure left a deep void in the SpicyIP family and we hope that some of the new additions (we're in the process of recruiting others) will fill in this void, at least to some extent.
